The Hive Foundation Holiday Camps

Bees in the Community football and multi-sports holiday camps offer a fantastic way to keep active, build confidence, have FUN and make new friends during the school holidays. Our goal is to ensure that every child enjoys a memorable week with our dedicated and FA qualified team of coaches. Our camps are open for all boys and girls aged 5 to 12 years old and are delivered on our state of the art 5G astroturf pitches.

*We offer a mid-morning snack and a nutritious lunchtime meal every day.

A typical day at camp includes engaging morning activities related to the day’s theme, followed by lunch, and an afternoon filled with competitions and tournaments. Each day, our coaches teach a new topic.

Meet the players!
Our Barnet FC and London Bees players often pay us a visit to meet the children and interact with them. We have autograph and photo sessions as well as football skills challenges with the players. During the season, we are able to offer free family ticket vouchers for Barnet FC and London Bees matches. (dependent on player availability).

What Happens at Camp?
When the children arrive, they are greeted by the coaches and start with a ‘Skill of the Day’ session. Each child has a ball each and the coaches demonstrate a range of individual skills for the children to practice.
The children are then split in to groups based on their age and relative ability. Each group will stay with their coach throughout the day.

EXAMPLE TIMETABLE OF A DAY ON CAMP

DAILY THEMEDRIBBLING/TURNING/SHIELDING
10:00 - 10:15Skill of the Day & Safety Briefing - Children have a ball each and the coaches introduce a range of ball skills such as juggling, turns or 1v1 moves. Older children may be used to demonstrate moves to younger ones. This part of the day serves as a nice warm up activity for the children. All children are given a reminder of the behaviour and safety expectations on camp. Children are then split in to relevant age groups and the coaches take them to their own pitch. On occasion, the Barnet FC players come to meet the children and take part in a skills challenge.
10:15 - 11:15Skill Session 1 - Dribbling/turning/shielding games based on age groups given. This is a skill development session with a specific learning focus. This allows children to develop or refine new skills.
11:15 - 11:45Morning Break - The coaches take the children to the Hive Cafe where they are served a fruit snack and squash to drink.
11:45 - 12:30Morning Matches - All groups play small-sided games (2v2 , 3v3, 4v4 etc) with challenges and targets set by the coaches linked to the daily theme.
12:30 - 1:30Lunch Break - The children are taken to the Hive Cafe where they are served lunch with different menu options each day. Lunch options always include a vegetarian option. All meals are served with a healthy side salad and squash or water to drink.
1:30 - 1:45Free Play - A short 'play time' after lunch where the children are fully supervised by their coach but are allowed to play whatever games they like just as they would at school break times.
1:45 - 2:15Skill Session 2 - A second skill-based session working on the coaching topic of the day to build upon the skills covered in the first session in the morning
2-15 - 3:00Afternoon Matches - All groups will play small-sided games at the end the day. This might be in the form of a mini tournament or a structured competition. At the end of the day each coach will award their 'Player of the Day' to a child who has shown outstanding teamwork, or been helpful or kind to others, or worked really hard on improving their skills.

WHAT THE PARENT'S SAY

aron felt he was trained by real coaches not teachers from school. I don’t have to worry about him watching TV or being on his game console all day long , it helps his physical growth as well as mental development while interacting with different age kids and coaches

I would definitely recommend it, coaches are caring and professional, the fact that meals are also provided helps lots of families.

Overall a great experience - meeting the players helped to inspire my kids - really positive !
